Community Safety & Radio Support
Beyond promoting amateur radio knowledge and technology, the Hong Kong Amateur Radio Transmitting Society (HARTS) plays a vital role in community service. One of our core missions is to provide radio network support for charitable organizations, especially during mountain fundraising events where mobile phone coverage is often unavailable.

How We Support Charities
Volunteer Mobilization: We deploy trained amateur radio operators to set up communication systems in remote areas.
Safety Assurance: These networks safeguard athletes, volunteers, and participants by ensuring reliable communication.
Emergency Response: In the event of accidents, our operators immediately coordinate first aid services and call the Fire Services Department and/or the Government Flying Service to transport seriously injured individuals to hospitals.
Growing Demand: With the rising popularity of mountain activities, more participants are joining charity hikes and runs. Unfortunately, injuries have become more frequent. Thanks to our volunteers, many injured individuals have been able to receive urgent medical treatment without delay.
